Michael J. Rogers, who was born on June 2, 1963, served as the 8th congressional district representative for Michigan. Rogers, a Republican, served in that capacity from 2001 to 2015. He presided over the American House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence from 2011 to 2015.
Rogers has previously commented on national security news for CNN. Declassified: Untold Stories of American Spies, a CNN program, was another project he worked on as an executive producer.

He served in the United States Army from 1985 to 1989 after receiving a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and sociology from Adrian College in Adrian, Michigan. From 1989 until 1994, he served as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Chicago, where he focused on governmental corruption and organized crime. He belongs to the Society of Former Federal Bureau of Investigation Special Agents. After James Comey was fired in 2017, Mike Rogers was considered for the position of new head of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Mike Rogers is a former representative for Michigan’s 8th Congressional District, a U.S. Army officer, and an FBI special agent.

Mike developed a reputation as a tireless and successful leader on counterterrorism and national security policy from his time in the U.S. House of Representatives, where he served as chair of the influential House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) and as a member of the Energy and Commerce panel.
