After Amazon losing a whopping $7 billion on the stock market, Microsoft founder and CEO has overtaken the first position as the world’s richest man from the hardworking Jeff Bezos.
According to Forbes, before Amazon went public in 1998, Jeff Bezos was listed among The Forbes 400 list of richest Americans with a net worth of $1.6 billion.
Amazon value on the stock market downgraded by 7 percent which saw a massive reduction in Jeff Bezos net worth to $103.9 billion (roughly Rs. 7,36,000 crores).
Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates is currently worth $105.7 billion (roughly Rs. 7,49,000 crores), making him the world’s richest man.
In 2018, with a net worth of $160 billion, Jeff Bezos overtook the first position from Bill Gates after 24 years of monopoly. However, reports that came in, according to Forbes, revealed that Amazon reported a 26 percent drop in net income in its third quarter, its first profit decline since 2017.
