Michigan State University is a public land-grant research university in East Lansing, Michigan. It was founded in 1855 as the Agricultural College of the State of Michigan, the first of its kind in the United States

What are the documents needed for your application

To apply to Michigan State University, you’re required to provide certain documents to be considered for the program.

 

For undergraduate or bachelor’s degree programs

To apply for your undergraduate degree program, you are required to provide the following documents

  1. Your high school (Senior high School) certificate
  2. Your High school (Senior High School) transcript (from the first year to your final year)
  3. Your final external or national examination such as WAEC for Nigerian and other west African students, WASSCE for Ghanaian students, Matric for south African students e.t.c
  4. English proficiency tests: the TOEFL, the IELTS, the CAE, and the CPE.

For Master’s  or postgraduate degree programs

To apply for your postgraduate or master’s degree program, you are required to provide the following documents

  1. Copies of your degree certificate
  2. Your academic transcript
  3. A CV (applies for some courses)
  4. Research proposal (if you’re applying for a research Master like an MPhil or MRes)
  5. English proficiency tests: the TOEFL, the IELTS, the CAE, and the CPE.

For Ph.D. programs

To apply for your Ph.D. course you are required to provide the following documents

  1. Your academic transcript
  2. CV
  3. Personal statements/ Cover letter
  4. Details of at least two referees (make sure to contact them beforehand so they know what you are applying for and why)
  5. English proficiency tests: the TOEFL, the IELTS, the CAE, and the CPE.
