This presentation will begin with an overview of current research programs at AMTAS, a FAA Center of Excellence in Advanced Materials for Transport Aircraft Structures at the University of Washington. The talk will then be focused on an active research project on the subject of disbond/ delamination arrest mechanism. In this project, an analytical method has been developed for the accurate and efficient analysis of disbond propagation in bonded-bolted composite structure under mixed-mode loading. The effect of stacking sequence and the fastener dimensions on the disbond arrest capabilities will be shown. A newly developed pure Mode II test specimen for studying delamination growth in a bonded-bolted structure will also be introduced. In addition, several unique graduate-level educational programs in the Advanced Composite Materials and Structures, being offered by the University of Washington’s Aeronautics and Astronautics Department, will also be presented.
林坤源博士是美国华盛顿大学威廉波音suncitygroup太阳集团的终身职教授。他也是美国联邦航空局在华盛顿大学先进材料结构卓越中心主任。林博士在美国麻省理工学院获得硕士和博士学位,主修复合材料和飞机结构。

除了研究以外,林博士在复合材料教学方面也有杰出的表现。他曾经三次获得华盛顿大学suncitygroup太阳集团年度教授大奖。林教授并于2014 年得到华盛顿大学全校杰出贡献终身学习大奖。此外, 林博士在美国,新加坡、韩国、印度、台湾 已培训超过3000 名复合材料和飞机结构工程师。最近,林教授在互联网讲授一门复合材料在线课程。来自153 个国家的12,000 多名员工参加了这门课程并给予好评。
